How to install

Measure the pipe's outside diameter first. On insulated pipe, measure over the insulation, since the marker goes on the jacket.

DuraMark™ HE Self-Stick

Solid polyester with a tough overlamination, liner mounted for clean, dry pipe and insulation jackets.

  1. Clean and dry the spot.Wipe off dust, oil and moisture. Isopropyl alcohol works well on metal pipe.
  2. Check the temperature.Apply at 50°F or warmer so the adhesive grabs.
  3. Peel and place.Peel the backing, line the legend up where it will be seen, and press it on from the center out to push out air.
  4. Rub it down firmlyacross the whole marker, especially the edges.
  5. Seal the ends with arrow tape.Wrap a band of matching arrow tape around the pipe at each end, overlapping the marker edge, with the arrows pointing with the flow.
The arrow tape bands do two jobs: they lock the marker ends down and show flow direction all the way around the pipe.

90 ft rolls in every ASME color. Use it to seal the ends of self-stick markers and to show flow direction.

  1. Match the marker.Use the same color scheme and the tape width for your marker size.
  2. Clean and dry the pipe,50°F or warmer.
  3. Wrap one bandaround the pipe with the arrows pointing with the flow, so the ends meet or just overlap.
  4. Press it downall the way around.
One 90 ft roll makes about 344 bands on 1" OD pipe, 172 on 2" OD, 86 on 4" OD and 57 on 6" OD. The calculator figures rolls for you.

DuraMark™ HE markers are a solid polyester construction featuring a tough overlamination which sheds chemicals and cleaners. Liner mounted for direct application to clean, dry surfaces. Legends and colors are custom printed to your specifications.
